Rev. Gaylen P. Minner
Rev. Gaylen P. Minner, 77, retired minister, 116 S. W. 14th, died Sunday (June 11, 1995) at Friendly Acres Retirement Community.
He was born March 21, 1918, in Lost Springs, to Harry W. Minner and Dora E. Mastin Minner. He married Peggy Birch on Aug. 1, 1944, in Struthers, Ohio. She survives.
He pastored churches in Oklahoma City, Kill Creek and Rose Valley Churches in Osborne County. Emmanuel Church and the nearby Industry Church in Abilene. He retired and moved to Friendly Acres where he served as Chaplain for 11 years. He was a member of the Kansas West Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include one son, Larry B. Minner of Goodland, one daughter, Linda J. Weber of Wichita; one brother, Dr. Donald H. Minner of McPherson; one sister, Violet R. Landis of Yoder; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a. m. Wednesday at the Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Lawrence Grove officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p. m. today and 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Tuesday at Petersen's Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
