Obituary
Charles "Chuck" E. Claassen,
76, of Topeka, died Saturday (Aug. 6, 2016) at the House at Midland
Care.
He was born in Newton, the son of
Edward and Hester (Regier) Claassen.
Chuck worked in various capacities at
Westar Energy, retiring after 30 years as material manager.
He was a United States Army veteran and
member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Chuck married Bonnie L. Toews on Jan.
6, 1964, in Moundridge. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons,
Michael (Jackie) Claassen of Dover and Jeffrey (Vicki) Claassen of
Berryton; along with three siblings, Harold Claassen, Elizabeth McKim
and Clara Kerekes. Grandsons Mason, Max and Matthew Claassen also
survive.
Claassen will lie in state after 2 p.m.
Wednesday (Aug. 10, 2016), at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where the
family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m.
Thursday (Aug. 11, 2016) at Highland Park United Methodist Church,
29th and Michigan, Topeka. Graveside service will begin at 4 p.m.
Thursday at West Zion Mennonite Cemetery, Moundridge.
