Obituary
Jim Herbers, 63, of Newton died
Wednesday (August 3, 2016) surrounded by his loving family. He was
born Jan. 28, 1952, to Charlotte and Alvin Herbers in Topeka. He grew
up in Valley Falls and Holton.
Jim graduated from Holton High School
and attended Kansas State University, earning a Bachelor of Science,
Agriculture Degree. He married Anita (Jackson) on June 17, 1978, in
Independence, Missouri. They had two children; Eric and Stephanie.
Jim worked as a Combine Service Specialist for AGCO for over 30
years.
Jim was preceded in death by his
father, Alvin Herbers; mother, Charlotte Herbers; sister, Marian
Hunter and niece, Rechelle Kersh.
He is survived by wife, Anita Herbers;
son, Eric (Ashley) Herbers; daughter, Stephanie Herbers; brothers:
Ralph (Charlene) Herbers, Jack Herbers; and sisters, Julia (Dale)
Fahrmeier, Mary Susan (Steve) Cole, Lois (Bryan) Sechrist.
A gathering will be held at Petersen
Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 10, 2016).
