Obituary
Hazel Louise (Darrow) Lewis, 90, of
Valley Center, passed away on Tuesday (Aug. 2, 2016). She was born on
Feb. 23, 1926, in Peabody, the daughter of Blaine and Lucy Darrow.
She married Delvin Maurice Lewis on June 29, 1947, in Newton.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, raising
her family in rural Valley Center, being involved in her community
and an active member of her church. She loved her family and was
involved in many aspects of their life.
Survivors include her son, D. Morris
Lewis and wife Tania of Valley Center; daughter Lynne Lewis Cox of
Sacramento, California; grandchildren Shawn Lewis and wife Kristen of
Georgia, Lucas Walters of Arkansas, Julie Eckhoff and husband Bruce
of California, Brenda Gomez and husband Art and Sherry Cox of
California, Kimberly Chandler and husband Brian of Texas and Kaitlyn
Lewis of Missouri; great-grandchildren Kyra and Mandy Eckhoff, Nathan
Lewis, Kendall Gomez, Jacob and Lyla Chandler; and brother Ed Darrow
of Littleton, Colorado.
Hazel was preceded in death by her
husband Delvin Lewis, her parents and her two sisters, Rebecca
Winders and Frankie Cain.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday
(Aug. 5, 2016) and services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 6,
2016), both will be held at First United Methodist Church, 560 N.
Park, Valley Center. Burial will follow the service at Hillside
Cemetery, Sedgwick.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her
memory has been established with First United Methodist Church, 560
N. Park, Valley Center, Kansas 67147. Baker Funeral Home of Valley
