Obituary
GOESSEL - Marvin F. Banman, 90, passed away on Oct. 30,
2013, at the Bethesda Home, Goessel.
He was born April 23, 1923, in rural Goessel the son of
Frank W. and Mary Flaming Banman. He had worked as a draftsman for Excel and
Full Vision, and for Marion County driving the maintainer. He and his wife were
foster parents to more than 125 children. He served as a medic in the U. S.
Army during WWII. He was a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church,
Goessel.
On August 29, 1947, he married Elma Unruh in Goessel. She
passed away on June 14, 2013.
Survivors include his daughters, Darla Banman (Gary
Lyndaker) of Gravois Mills, Mo., Elaine Banman of Hillsboro; three grandchildren,
Malea Hartvickson (Ryan Bryant), Bonnie (Kevin) Gaeddert, Robyn Hartvickson
(Ethan Harris); eight great grandchildren, Jordon Hartvickson-Gonzalez, Darian
Hartvickson-Gonzalez, Emmalyn Gaeddert, Eddie Gaeddert, Eli Gaeddert, Ellarose
Gaeddert, Riley Hartvickson and Aida Hartvickson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul in infancy,
Ewald and Arnold; six sisters, Edna Schmidt, Clara Voth, Wanda Salvatierra,
Pauline Peters, Hulda Thiessen and Helene Holland.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be 2 p.m.,
Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel with Pastor
Linda Ewert officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at Alexanderwohl
Cemetery, Goessel. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November
7, 2013, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Goessel.
