Obituary
MCPHERSON -Tina Kay (Braun) (Koehn) (Buller) Platner was
born on May 15 1933 to John and Elizabeth (Thiesen) Braun in Cuauhtemoc,
Chihuahua, Mexico. She was married to Clarence H. Koehn on August, 17, 1947 in
Mexico. To this union was born one daughter, Sara and six sons, David, Gerard,
Juan, Frank, Oscar and Ernie.
In 1958 they emigrated from Mexico to Moundridge, Kansas,
where they enjoyed 40 years of married life.
Clarence passed away on July 14th 1988, she was then married
to Alva Buller on February 20th 1993. and then to Marvin Platner on March 15th
2008.
Marvin and she experienced many wonderful traveling
experiences to Arizona and Mexico, which she spoke of frequently.
She worked at Stevens Springs in Newton Kansas, waitressed
at the Moundridge Cafe, acquired her CNA license, and was a care giver, at the
Moundridge Nursing Home, along with her most important job of all, raising her
7 children whom she loved dearly.
She was a citizen of Mexico, Canada, and finally, what she
was proud of most, the United States of America on February 19, 1982.
Although Tina had very little formal education she spoke
three languages fluently, German, Spanish and English.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands,
Clarence and Alva, 4 children, Gerard, Juan, Sara, and David, and 16 brothers
and sisters.
Survivors include her husband Marvin, her sons Frank, Oscar
and Ernie, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Tina passed away on Saturday November 2, 2013 at the age of
80 surrounded by family and caring friends.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the
Moundridge Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00
p.m. with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Moundridge
Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mound Township Cemetery.Memorials are
suggested to Angel Arms Home Care, in care of the funeral home.
