Alan J. Colborn
Obituary
Alan J. Colborn died Monday (Nov. 11, 2013).
He was born January 16, 1955 in Newton Kansas to Peg and Don
Colborn. He attended St. Mary's grade school and graduated from Newton High
School. He married Sheryl Freeburne. They had a daughter; then divorced. Alan
later married Jean Ratliff and had two daughters. They divorced.
Alan is survived by his parents Peg and Don Colborn of
Salina; three daughters: Jennifer Kinney (John), Newton, Glenda Colborn,
Wichita, Samantha Colborn, Lubbock, Texas; and five grandchildren. He is
survived by brothers: Martin (Roxann), Abilene, Michael (Kathleen), Moundridge,
Richard, Salina and David (Aimee), Youngstown, Ohio; two sisters: Cathy (Will)
Summers, Albany, Ore. and Amy (Richard) Vigil, Damascus, Mary.; two aunts: Cora
Martin, Pratt; Helen (Bob) Melton, Lake Lotawana, Mo.; and two uncles: Jack
(Charlott) Colborn, Chanute, and Ken (Jovita) Colborn, Salina as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral
home. Services will be at Petersen's Funeral Home, 215 N. Main in Newton at
10:30 a.m. Tuesday, (Nov. 19, 2013) with Martin Colborn presiding. Burial will
be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Solomon with The Reverend
John Wolesky of Immaculate Conception Church in Solomon officiating.
