LONGVILLE, Louisiana – Robert Koehn, 64, Longville, La., former Halstead area resident, died July 6, 2016.
He was born July 25, 1951 at Newton Hospital to Sam and Frieda (Blosser) Koehn of rural Halstead.
He attended and graduated from Halstead Grade School. He then attended Halstead High School, graduating in 1969. He then attended United Electronics Institute, Kansas City, Mo., graduating in 1971.
While attending school in Kansas City he met and married his wife Mary Jackson of 44 years.
In 1974 they moved their family to Louisiana to begin a life of farming. Robert took his responsibility of caring for the land seriously, knowing it belonged to God and he was simply being allowed to care for it.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son Jeffrey Koehn and his wife Lena and their children Samuel and Abigal, Longville; two daughters, Kristen Koehn, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Amy Koehn, Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Peggy Koehn Altum and her husband Ed, Newton; Halstead relatives, Joan Armendariz, aunt; and a cousin Leroy Koehn and his wife Delores.
Services were held July 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Longville, with Minister Stuart Graves. Burial was in Barrentine Cemetery, Longville.
