operating Bear Mountain Machine & Tool with his son Darrel.
Tom married Janice Gooch in 1992. Later Tom retired and sold
the business to his son Darrel. After retiring from the machine shop, he
continued his life-long passion of gunsmithing, Bear Mountain Gunsmithing at
his home.
Tom was one of the first hunter safety instructors for the
state of Kansas. He was an avid outdoorsman and big game hunter, including
several grizzly bears. He spent many a weekend in the mountains on his
4-wheeler, until his health would no longer allow it.
