Robert 'Bob' Dent Dickerson

Robert "Bob" Dent Dickerson,
73, died Friday (Jan. 8, 2010) at Mennonite Manor in South
Hutchinson.
He was born on July 12, 1936, in
Newton, the son of the late Thomas and Ida (Lefert) Dickerson.
On Nov. 22, 1958, he married Donna
Gilchrist; she survives.
A longtime resident of Turon, Bob was
postmaster and retired in 1992. Bob was a lover of trains and depots,
and he enjoyed giving talks about them.
He is survived by two daughters, Denise
and husband Kenny Applegate of Arlington, and Debra and husband John
Ubert of Wichita; a son, Sgt. Major Mark and wife Cathi Dickerson of
Sanford, N.C.; a sister, Irene Stone of Sedgwick; grandchildren,
Natasha Real, Nathan Applegate, Megan and Chase Truitt, Conner,
Madison, and Olivia Ubert, and Tyler and Tara Dickerson; and three
great-grandchildren.
He was so proud of his children and
grandchildren.
There will be no visitation; cremation
has taken place. The memorial service will be at a later date.
