Obituary

Ida M. Weaver, 95, passed away Friday (Sept. 9, 2016) at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. She was born Dec. 27, 1920, in East Earl, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Sydney and Lydia Martin Weber. She attended the Mennonite Brethren Church, Hesston, and was a member of Poarch Community Church of Poarch, Alabama.

She married David Z. Weaver on February 7, 1942, in Goodville, Pennsylvania. They were missionaries to the Creek and Choctaw Indian tribes in Alabama and Mississippi. David passed away on April 17, 1997. Ida was also preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.

Ida is survived by her children, Mark (Darlene) of Hesston, Carl (Sharon) of Hesston, Naomi (Raymond) Ressler of Harrisonburg, Virginia, David (Sue) of Gulfport, Mississippi, Lois (Carl Kallansrud) Weaver of New Mexico, Dale (Jannie) of Macon, Mississippi, and Dan (Kristi) of Hesston; two sisters, Mary Weaver and Irene Rutt, both of New Holland, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday (Sept. 12, 2016) at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 13, 2016) at Schowalter Villa Chapel, Hesston, with Pastor Brad Burkholder and Chaplain Wendy Miller officiating.

Burial will be in the Judson Indian Cemetery, Poarch, Alabama. Memorials may be made to the Schowalter Villa or the Poarch Community Church in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.
