Obituary
Rico F. Gomez, 42, died Friday (August 30, 2013) at his
Newton residence.
He was born October 22, 1970, in Newton to John and Rosalie
(Fast) Gomez. Rico was a laser technician at Excel Industries in Hesston. He
enjoyed playing drums in local bands, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. His
children family and friends were very important to him and he looked forward to
spending time with his children and those he loved. Rico was an avid New York
Jets Fan and also enjoyed the band KISS, especially the drummer.
Rico is survived by his parents John and Rosalie Gomez of
Newton; son Rio Juan Diego Gomez of Newton; daughters Ocean Juliet and Searra
Raine Gomez both of Newton; brother James Gomez of Newton; sister Sarah Gomez
of Newton, and significant other Gale Spragg of Newton.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013
at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jason Reynolds presiding.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013. The family
will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Florence Cemetery, Florence.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association
in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
