Joan K. 'Timmie' Runnells

Joan K. 'Timmie' Runnells, 64, 1000 Grandview, died Sunday (Dec. 29, 1996).

She was born June 29, 1932, in Norwich to Clarence and Hazel Markel Timmermyer. She married James 'Jim' D Runnells on June 7, 1950, in Conway Springs. He survives.

She was a homemaker and retired medical records clerk at Hertzler Clinic in Halstead. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society, Lady Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Eastgate Lanes Womens Bowling League, all of Newton.

Other survivors include two sons, Mark Runnells and James Runnells, both of Newton; five daughters, Diana Roberts, Janice Puttroff, Patricia Hardman and Carol Salsbery, all of Newton, and Rosemary Luke of Wichita; three brothers, William Timmermyer of Bryans Road, Md., Fred Timmermyer of Kansas City, Mo., and Robert Timmermyer of Wichita, four sisters, Margaret Gerber of Conway Springs, Sister Ruth Timmermyer of Wichita, Rosemary Coleman of Clearwater and Teresa Geels of Subiaco, Ark.; and 19 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Charles and John; and two sisters, Agnes and Angela.

The rosary will be at 7:30 p. m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. The funeral mass will be at 10 a. m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Ken Schuckman of the church officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call until 5 p. m. today and from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.

Memorials may be sent to Central Homecare and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
