Welty, Etta Mae, 81, loving mother, grandmother and friend, passed away October 28, 2012. Memorial graveside service 2:30 pm, Friday, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Etta Mae enjoyed arts and crafts, bingo, walking the nature trail, sharing her peppernuts, apple pie and homemade ice cream. She encouraged her children that "you can do anything if you put your mind to it." She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Dean Welty, parents and brothers, Nelson, Wilbur and Donald Berger. Survivors include her sons, Dan (Lora Mae) Welty and Troy Welty of Wichita; daughters, Tracy Johnson of Rockaway, NJ and Patti Welty of Lawrence, KS; brothers, Ervin Berger of Peabody, KS, Allen Berger of Haysville, KS and Bill Berger of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Bonnie Emerson of Mayetta, KS, Wilma Johnson of Basehor, KS and Marjorie Heibert of Wichita; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
