GOESSEL - Gladys L. Thiesen, 87, passed away August 26, 2013, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.

She was born June 7, 1926, in Goessel, the daughter of George and Marie Nickel Goossen. She was a homemaker. Gladys married Adolf D. Thiesen on November 23, 1948, in Goessel. He passed away on June 13, 1996. She was a member of Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Newton.

She is survived by sons, Robert (Donna) of Newton, Lowell (Marsha) of Newton; daughters, Mayleen (Lee) Vinson of Haysville, Joyce Booth of Newton; brother-in-law, Harold Regehr of Buhler; sister-in-law, Billie Goossen of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Lisa Werner of Newton, Adam (Emily) Thiesen of Jersey City, N.J., Adena (Jeremiah) Connelly of Wichita, Micaela (Steven) King of Haysville, Brendan (Megan) Vinson of Delray Beach, Fla., Joshua Booth of Newton, Sarah Booth of Newton; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Tanner Werner of Newton, and Connor Vinson of Delray Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolf; brothers, George Jr. and Arlo; sister, Mary Regehr; and son-in-law, David Booth.

Open visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Goessel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013, at Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Newton, with Pastor Phil Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Tabor Mennonite Church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Widow's Mite Mission or Tabor Mennonite Church, in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 303 E. Main, Goessel, KS 67053.
