Obituary: Samuel Emerson “Bing” Corsbie
Newton, Kan. — Samuel Emerson “Bing” Corsbie, 88, died
Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Newton Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Ft. Madison, Iowa, to Samuel
and Minnie (Pyles) Corsbie. He was a retired Santa Fe supervisor.
He met the love of his life in Baltimore, Md., while
stationed in the United States Coast Guard Band. He and Margaret were married
on Jan. 4, 1945, and moved to Ft. Madison, where Bing had a long career with
the Santa Fe, which also took the family to Chicago and Newton.
Bing is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret, of the
home; his son, Danny (Jann) of Gainesville, Fla.; daughter, Cathy and Charles
Mayberry of Wichita; and grandchildren, Jennifer and Tim Mayberry of Wichita,
Matthew Corsbie of Gainsville, Fla., Ethan Corsbie, Kodiak, Alaska, and Sarah
Wright Alexandria, Va. He also has five great-grandchildren, which bought him
much joy. He is also survived by his little dog Tanner.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
