Keith Kay Rodgers
Keith Kay Rodgers, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, April
10, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas.
Rodgers was born on July 29, 1923, in Newton. After a short
stint with the Santa Fe Railroad in Newton, Rodgers, U.S. Army Purple Heart
recipient, served three years during World War II. He worked for more than 26
years in Civilian Personnel Management, Kelly Air Force Base. He was a member
of First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio. Rodgers received his BBA
Degree at the University of Texas, 1950.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rowena Runneberg
Rodgers; sons, Paul Rodgers (Alice), of The Woodlands, Texas, Dr. Alan Rodgers
(Susan), of Cambridge, Mass.; daughter, Linda Rodgers Stiefel (John), of
Hammondville, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Kathy Rodgers Henderson (Bill), of
Silsbee, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan Lee, Amanda Stiefel Wells (Daniel), Glenn
Rodgers, Jacob Stiefel, Scott Rodgers, Ellen Rodgers Byars (Brady), Lili V.
Rodgers, Lulu Wang, Meiya Guo; great-grandchildren, Madeline Kay Byars and
Carrie Ann Wells; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Rodgers was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. And
Emma Holdeman Rodgers; son, Keith Kay Rodgers Jr.; sisters, Leila May Rodgers,
Zeta Rodgers Brandt and Edith Rodgers Wiley; and brother, Lee Roy Rodgers.
A memorial service was held
Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 7150
Interstate Highway 10, San Antonio, Texas.
