Merle T. Davidson, 94, passed away
Monday (Sept. 26, 2016).
Born in Blue Mound, he later received a
Bronze Star for his service in World War II. Merle was a Newton resident; he owned
Davidson Welding and later retired as a welding instructor. He was an
expert welder and fabricator. He was a brilliant, spirited jokester
who loved to fish, hunt and dance. He was also a member of the
American Legion and the VFW.
Merle is survived by son, Harley
(JoAnn) Davidson; daughters, Naomi (Donald) Rakestraw and Suzy (Gene)
Sebo; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Donald Davidson, and nine siblings.
A graveside service will be held at
Blue Mound Cemetery at 2 p.m. on October 8, 2016.
