Rohrer, Jessie

The Newton Kansan

Died.  In this city, last evening, Wednesday, July 18, 1883, at 6 p.m., of typhoid fever, Miss Jessie F. Rohrer, youngest daughter of G.B. and Eliza C. Rohrer, aged about twenty years.

Miss Rohrer came to this city some two years ago with her parents, and was the youngest of three sisters.  We were not personally acquainted with her, but those who were speak of her in the highest terms as a young lady of the best type.  Her home with her father, mother, sisters, and friends was the joy of her life.  None knew her but to respect and esteem her, and her death leaves a sad spot on many hearts in this city.  For many days did life unconsciously to her hang upon the slenderest threat upon which it suspends between this world and the Beyond, but the angel Death last evening, as the day's works were being ended, thought best to give her permanent relief from the ailments and trials here below.

The funeral will be held at the residence of G.B. Rohrer on South Main street, Saturday, July 21, 1883, at 10 a.m. and to which all are invited.  The Newton Kansan, Newton, Kansas.  Thursday, July 19, 1883.  Page 3.
