Obituary: Leona M. Silvers
KS_Newton — Leona M. Silvers, 88, passed away June 27,
2013, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.
She was born July 21, 1924, at Woodston, the daughter of
Irving and Blanche Cook Glodfelty. On Aug. 6, 1944, she married Bruce Silvers
at Woodston. He passed away on March 10, 2007.
Survivors include her children, Don (Beverly) Silvers of
Lenexa, Carolyn (Myke) Bruyr of Hesston; grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
Emily (Ryan) Scott, Bailey and Lauren, Kate (Guy) Sereff, Jessica (Jason)
Weimer, Brady, Brynlie, Breckyn, Casey Bruyr, Addie Bruyr; and three sisters,
Dorothy Dibble of Alton, Ruby Jackson of Stockton, and Rosilee Folsom of
Plainville.
She was preceded in death by brother, Herbert Glodfelty, and
sister, Wanda Chesney.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at
Stockton United Methodist Church, Stockton, with Pastor Les Ellis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stockton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from
2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.
