Obituary: Paul S. Diener

Paul S. Diener, 89, passed away May 3, 2013, at Schowalter
Villa, Hesston.
He was born May 15, 1923, in Yoder, the son of Harry and
Amanda Selzer Diener. He had worked as a draftsman. He volunteered for MDS,
prison ministry, and the Et Cetera Shop. He was an avid gardener and loved to
sing. He was a member of Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston, and had been the
groundskeeper at Eastlawn Cemetery.
On Aug. 19, 1951, he married Dorothy Horst at Peabody. She
passed away on Feb. 15, 1989.
He is survived by one daughter, Carla (Steve) Lyon of
University Place, Wash.; two sons, Arlis (Marsha) of Kansas City, and Myron
(Donna) of Harrisonville, Mo.; two brothers, Edward of Sarasota, Fla., Herman
(Mary Ellen) of Hutchinson; two sisters-in-law, Carrie Diener of Goshen, Ind.,
and LaVerne Horst of Othello, Wash.; five grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Daniel, Clayton,
Truman, Willard and Glenn.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7,
2013, at Eastlawn Cemetery, Hesston, with a memorial service to follow at 10:30
a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston, with Pastor
Kurt Horst officiating. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday,
May 6, 2013, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.
