Obituary: Theodore 'Ted' Allen Stutzman
KS_Newton — Theodore "Ted" Allen Stutzman, 72,
entered the loving arms of Jesus on May 12, 2013, in Peabody.
Ted was born to Theo Grace (Allen) Lawler and Walter Jacob
Stutzman on Feb. 17, 1941, in Peabody. He graduated from Newton High School in
1959. He served four years in the United States Air Force.
Ted married Judith Staton on Nov. 15, 1969, and they were
married for 18.5 years. He worked as a train dispatcher for the Santa Fe
Railroad for 18.5 years.
Ted had a passion for telling others about Jesus and talking
politics; he never knew a stranger. He had a love for the outdoors, was a loyal
friend and a great father. Ted always walked around with a smile on his face
and offered a helping hand.
Ted is survived by one daughter, Jaime LaRue and husband
Sean of Tulsa, Okla.; two sons, Craig Stutzman and wife Leah of Bel Aire, and
Jon Stutzman and wife Nicole of Wichita; three sisters, Eileen Wonders and
husband Harold of Newton, Nancy Keasey of Tucson, Ariz., and Barbara Tyler and
husband Chuck of Cibolo, Texas; 10 precious grandchildren; and many beloved
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theo Grace (Allen)
Lawler and Walter Jacob Stutzman.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May
15, 2013, at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main St. in Newton; friends may
visit with the family from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A celebration of life for Ted will be
at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton, with Pastor
Terry Ullum officiating. Burial will follow at Burns Cemetery in Burns.
