Zuercher, Luella

Luella (Harder) Zuercher entered her eternal home on March 1, 2013.

Luella was born Oct. 26, 1936, to Gus and Kathrine Harder. Luella committed her life to Christ at a young age. She attended Berean Academy and Grace College, Omaha.

Luella married Floyd Zuercher on July 11, 1957. They were Missionaries in Colombia, South America, from 1960 to 1972.  Luella taught at Berean Academy and influenced many lives during her 37 years of teaching. Luella earned undergraduate and master’s degrees from WSU. She loved gardening and time with grandchildren. Luella’s life and witness inspire us to be more like Christ!

Luella is survived by her husband, Floyd; son, Charles and Lili, Portland; son, Steve and Melanie, Wichita; daughter, Ann Servaes and Shannon, St. Louis; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Harder and Christine, Benton; sister, Doris Smith, Corvallis; sister-in-law, Marjorie Zuercher, Whitewater; brother-in-law, Dwight Zuercher and Wilma, Chicago; and aunts, uncles and cousins.  Luella was preceded in death by her father, Gus; mother, Kathrine; and brother, Kenneth.

Celebration of life service will be at Berean Academy, Elbing, on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.  Family committal service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 at the Swiss Church Cemetery, rural Whitewater. Memorial contributions may be made to Berean Academy, in care of Lamb Funeral Home, P.O. Box 358, Whitewater, KS 67154.
