Obituary: Alvin James Thiesen
KS_Newton -- Alvin James Thiesen, 72, passed away March
18, 2013, at Bethesda Home in Goessel.
He was born July 19, 1940, in Goessel, the son of Dan S. and
Esther Franz Thiesen. He was a farmer, and worked for Hesston Corporation for
36 years.
On April 29, 1962, he married Ann Roadway in Golden, Colo.
She survives.
His love in life was to go to farm auctions. Alvin was a
member of Tabor Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ann of Newton; son, Dale Ray
(Shelley) of Moundridge; daughter, Jeri (Eric) Johnson of Inman; sisters,
Lucille (Palmer) Base of Tampa, Evalena (Robert) Androes of Walton, Geneva
Pryce of Newton; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and
Delbert.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be at 10:30
a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Tabor Mennonite Church, Newton, with Pastor
Phil Schmidt officiating. Inurnment will be in Tabor Mennonite Church Cemetery.
