Helen
Pauline Mann 83, Potwin
POTWIN - Helen Pauline Mann was promoted to the rank of Angel in Heaven
on Saturday (Feb. 9, 2013), after serving as one on earth for 83 years and 2
months.
Pauline was born in Ludlow, Kent., Dec. 9, 1929, to Jacob and Neva (Southard)
Logan. She lived in Kentucky until the age of 3 when the family moved back to
Oklahoma. She attended schools at Crescent and Blackwell. Her family relocated
at the age of 14, back east to Seymour, Ind.
She attended school there for a year but quit to begin working at the Grey Hound
Bus Stop Café. In the summer of 1946, at age 16, the family returned again to
Oklahoma, where Pauline worked in several cafes as a waitress. In 1948, she met
and married Lawrence O'Mealey. It would be a short marriage but it blessed her
with her first born, Russell.
In 1949, she married Willard Windsor, and they were blessed with three more
children, Bart, Marcelle and Dawn. This marriage also ultimately would end in
divorce in the early 1970's. On Oct. 3, 1973, she married Clifford F. Mann,
whom helped her raise the children.
At this time she moved to Potwin. This union also brought her three grown
step-children, Bill, Tom and Molly.
In the fall of 2011, she moved in with her daughter Dawn and her husband in
Walton. In January of 2013, she moved to Presbyterian Manor in Newton, after a
fall. During her lifetime she also worked selling Tupperware, and then Avon for
over 30 years and doing demos and food sampling in local Wal-Mart stores.
She enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses, cooking for her family and hand
quilting.
Each grandchild and great-grandchild has been made a baby quilt by her loving
hands. She was a leader for the Cub Scouts in the 60s and early 70s and the
Girl Scouts in the later 70s and early 80s. She was a member of the Potwin
Lioness Club, and helped with the community flower garden and annual watermelon
feed and fish fry. Her greatest joys came from having grandchildren that didn't
want to leave her house.
She was happiest with a baby in her arms. Pauline was welcome into Heaven by
her parents, her loving husband of 37½ years, Clifford, a sister, Mary Jo
Logan, brothers, Bert Lee Logan and James Phillip Logan and her beloved son
Bart Allen Windsor.
She leaves here on earth to morn her, many family members including her
children, Russell O'Mealey of San Antonio, Texas; Marcelle Windsor and
companion Terry Schroeder of Newton; and Dawn and husband Jeff Unruh of Walton;
her husband's children, Bill and wife Becky Mann of Burns; Tom and wife Sally
Mann of Duncanville, Texas: and Molly Mann of El Dorado; 10 beautiful
grandchildren, and eighteen precious great grandchildren.
Along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws, out-laws and her dog-Skippy.
