Obituary: Frank F. Vollweider
KS_Newton -- Frank F. Vollweider, 92, retired farmer and
stockman, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.
He was born May 28, 1920, at Burrton to Hans and Mabel
(Stutzman) Vollweider. He was a lifelong resident of the Mt. Hope and Halstead
areas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Halstead, Mt. Hope
Masonic Lodge 238, and was a 32nd Degree Mason, Order of the Eastern Star
Chapter 5, Halstead, served on the Lake Township and Mt. Hope Co-Op Boards, and
was a founding member of the Mt. Hope Supper Club.
On Sept. 4, 1943, he married Irene Elizabeth Hess in
Burrton; she preceded him in death March 26, 2006.
Survivors include a son, Ted (Teresa) Vollweider,
Hutchinson; daughter, Christine (Steve) Hutton, Arkansas City; three
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at
Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at
First United Methodist Church, Halstead, with the Rev. Jane Voelkel
officiating.
Cremation will follow the service with inurnment in Greeley
Township Cemetery, Mt. Hope, at a later date.
Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or
Halstead Health and Rehabilitation, in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
