Obituary
Robert East Cressler, 78, of Wichita,
born on Sept. 26, 1938, in Newton, passed away peacefully Oct. 7,
2016. Bob left a legacy of love, compassion and charitable service.
He was a devoted dad, loving husband, loyal friend and respected
businessman. A hugger from way back, Bob would welcome friends and
strangers alike with a beaming smile and huge bear hug.
He was a thespian at Newton High
School, playing the lead role in "Our Town." Bob attended
Wichita State University and was an active member of the Sigma Phi
Epsilon fraternity, serving as president. He graduated with honors in
1956. Bob became a franchise owner of Pizza Hut with a long-time
friend. In 1968, Bob began work at Pizza Hut's corporate office in
Wichita. He was Vice President, Head of Operations at Pizza Hut when
his entrepreneurial spirit once again led him to pursue new
independent ventures.
Bob was actively involved in the
Wichita community. He volunteered countless hours of service on the
pool deck at Wichita Swim Club. He served as President of Wichita
Swim Club for several years and served on a number of Head Coach
Selection Committees. He served on numerous corporate boards
including the Board of Directors of Nutri-System. An avid golfer and
fisherman, Bob enjoyed these activities with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Ruth of 25
years; first wife Sally of 30 years; daughter Cari (Vince)
Pellegrini; son Chris (Becke) Cressler; stepsons Cody (Sara) Robinson
and Chad (Crystal) Robinson; loving grandchildren; sister-in-law Sue
Cressler; and nephews Jon and James Cressler.

Wednesday (Oct. 19, 2016) from 10 a.m. to noon at Tallgrass Country
Club, 2400 N. Tallgrass St., Wichita.
