Obituary: Chris Ellison
KS_Newton -- Chris Ellison was born October 15, 1954, to
Cleve and Carolyn Ellison in Greensburg.
He died January 23, 2013, in Omaha, Neb., at the University
of Nebraska Medical Center from complications as he was waiting for a liver
transplant.
On August 17, 1974, Chris married Ruth Taylor at Capitol
Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
They have two children: Isaac, a freshman at the University
of Oklahoma and Kaeli at home.
Chris was a Graduate of Northwest Central High School,
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and attended Southwestern State University in
Weatherford, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
He worked in the Natural Gas Pipeline industry for 35 years
for the same company that is now known as Southern Star. For the past year,
Chris was employed by Excel Industries of Hesston.
Chris was a member of Hesston Mennonite Church.
He loved baseball, and loved coaching kids in the
FUN-damentals of baseball.
He is survived by his parents, wife, children, sisters:
Ramona (Tom) Jones, Fayetteville, Ark.; Rebecca Ellison, Oklahoma City, Okla.;
Cathy Ellison, Norman, Okla.; and brothers: Stanley Ellison, Dallas, Texas;
Grover Ellison, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Memorial Service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 29,
2013.
A memorial has been established at Hesston Mennonite Church,
309 S. Main St., Hesston, Kansas 67062.
