Obituary: Charles E. Stewart
Charles E. Stewart, 82, died on Dec. 11, 2012, at Newton
Medical Center in Newton. Charles was born on March 10, 1930, in rural Urich,
Mo., to Marion and Margret (Doll) Stewart. He married Ethel Luce on June 8,
1953, in El Dorado. She preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 2003.Charles retired
after 39 years of bridge construction. He was a fisherman, enjoyed gardening,
and was an avid wood worker who made yard art. He was a member of the Eagle
Lodge and especially enjoyed his time playing pitch there. He is survived by
his daughter, Cathy Eason; sons, Charles S. Stewart and Kenneth R. Stewart;
seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Ethel W. Stewart; father and mother, Marion and
Homer Stewart; grandson, Ronald E. Eason; and granddaughter, Stephanie D.
Stewart. Services will be 10 a.m. Dec. 17, 2012, at Petersen Funeral Home
Chapel in Newton. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012,
also at the funeral home. A memorial has been set up for the American Lung
