Alva Wayne Lafferty,
1027 Union St., and employee of the Blacktop Construction Company, died Saturday
morning (March 30, 1961) in Newman Memorial County
Hospital in Emporia.
Alva Wayne Lafferty
was born March 30, 1904 in Lebo. He was married to Ema Kater Jan. 30, 1927
in Newton. He had been a resident of Emporia
for the past 10 years. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in
Newton.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; one son,
William, Kansas City; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Nick, Kansas City, Mrs. E.
L. Hood, Walton and Mrs. Ray Marlatte, 920
Woodland st.; four sisters, Mesdames William and Herman Kater, Newton; Mrs.
Oscar Lafferty, Ogden, Utah, and Sylvia Norton, Wichita and
11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (June 2) in the Draper Funeral Home in Newton, conducted by the Rev. Alfred Bartter, Pastor of the Newton United Church of Christ.
