Gustav E. Luehr,
service manager for the Collins Volkswagon Agency and employee of the firm
since 1963, died Friday (November 26, 1971) in Elk Grove Village, Ill., where
he had been vacationing with relatives.
Mr. Luehr has been a
resident of Germany before he moved to Newton in 1953. The son of Wilhelm and
Anna Marbs Luehr, he was born February 4, 1912,
in Hamburg, Germany, and he was married to Thea Busch in 1935, in Germany. Mr.
Luehr was a member of the Mennonite Church.
He
is survived by his wife, of the home; one son, Mike H., of Steamwood, Ill.; one
daughter, Maples Luehr, Elmwood Park, Ill.;
one brother, Arthur of Germany and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 30) in the First Mennonite Church in Newton and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. The Draper-Cannon Funeral Home, Newton, is in charge of arrangements.
