Lohman, John

The Hutchinson News

John G. Lohman, 63, died Saturday (March 24, 1923).

 

Mr. Lohman was born at Summerfield, Illinois, August 27, 1859. He came to Halstead, Kansas in his teens where he was engaged in the pump and plumbing business. On June 3, 1890, he was united in marriage to Martha Elizabeth Rapp. He moved his family to Hutchinson in 1913 and has resided here ever since. He was employed at the heating plant of the Santa Fe until a few months before his death.

 

He is survived by four daughters; Miss Emily Lohman and Miss Margaret Lohman at home; Mrs. W. M. Stahiheber, of Halstead, Kans., Mrs. B. V. Bird of Hutchinson and two sons, George J. Lohman of Hutchinson and John G. of the U. S. S. Mississippi, Pacific Fleet at Panama Canal. He is also survived by two brothers: George Lohman, Haistead, and Henry Lohman of St. Louis, Mo. Besides the relatives the deceased leaves many friends. His kind and generous disposition has endeared him to all who knew him.


The funeral services will be held from the home at 503 North Plum street Wednesday morning (Mar. 28, 1923) at 10 o’clock with Rev. R. L. George of the First M. E. Church in charge. The body will be taken to Halstead where funeral services will be conducted at the Cheatum and Nelligan funeral chapel at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. Owen of the First Methodist Church in charge. Interment will be in the family burial lot in the Halstead cemetery beside his wife.  (c) HCGS.  The Hutchinson News, Hutchinson, Kansas.  Tuesday, March 27, 1923.
