Obituary: Chong Son Foltz
Chong Son Foltz, 57, of Newton, died Sunday (Nov. 25, 2012)
at the Harry Hynes Hospice of Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis
campus in Wichita. She was born on Sept. 17, 1955, in Seoul, Korea. Chong
married Robert Foltz on April 27, 1983, in Seoul, and they moved to the United
States in June 1984.For 13 years, she worked at her sister’s restaurant,
Chong’s, in Newton. She attended both the Korean United Methodist Church in
Wichita and the First United Methodist Church in Newton. Survivors include her
husband, Robert of the home in Newton; daughter, Teresa Xayavongsy and husband,
Don of Wichita; her mother, Eunyeon Park of Derby; brothers, Eun Choe and Hong
Choe of Wichita; sisters, Chong Hee Spreier and husband, Joe of Poulsbo,
Washington, and Kyung Hee Choe of Korea. Chong was preceded in death by her
father, Kipong Choe. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday (Nov.
29, 2012) at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will be in the
Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton. Friends may call at the funeral home 8
a.m. Thursday until service time. Condolences may be left at
