Obituary: Jane C. Frieze
KS_Newton -- WICHITA — Jane C. Frieze, 59, was born on June
30, 1953, in Newton, and was raised on a farm near Furley. She attended
Fredrick Remington High School in Whitewater, where she was a member of the
national honor society and graduated in 1971. She attended Friends University
and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1976. She was a vocal music teacher at Hadley
Middle School; she retired on June 1, 2012. She was preceded in death by her
parents, George and Helen (Hughes) Reffner; father-in-law, Charles Bud Frieze;
sisters, Vivian Sadowski and Helen Margaret Wright; brother, William Reffner;
and nephews, Joe Sadowski, Mike Wright and Don Wright. She is survived by her
husband of 40 years, Steve Frieze; sons, Brian, Brad and Andy (Megan) Frieze,
all of Wichita; grandsons, Charles (Chip), Brayden, Logan and Mason Frieze;
brothers, Ed (Carol) Reffner of Valley Center and George Reffner of Olathe;
sister, Kay (Ken) Anderson of Valley Center; mother-in-law, Sally Frieze of
Wichita; special niece, Jeanie (Ron) Tomlinson of Fayetteville, Ark.; special
friend, Sherry (Dave) Waters of Kechi; and several nieces and nephews and
great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (Oct.
3, 2012), with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hillside Funeral West.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 4, 2012) at Riverview Baptist
Church, 844 W. 53rd in Wichita. Burial will follow at Green Valley Cemetery in
Furley. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Riverview Baptist Church
