Caroline Kane Atchinson

94, Newton Caroline Kane Atchinson, of Newton, died August 30, 2012, at Asbury Park Retirement Community. 
Born January 19, 1918, in Carthage, Missouri, Caroline grew up in Carthage, where she graduated high school. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma State University where she majored in golf, having been inspired by Arnold Palmer. 
Working variously for different oil companies and as a home-maker, Caroline's first love after her family was service to the Lord. For many years she devoted her time and energy as a teacher of the bible and a witness to God. As a Sunday school instructor, contributor at numerous Camp Farthest Out gatherings, and sometime conference lecturer, Caroline selflessly shared of her wisdom and Christian experience. 
Preceded in death by her husband Keith and oldest son Ted, Caroline is survived by her sons Court and Kerry, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. 
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 2001 Windsor Drive, Newton.
