Peabody, Kan. -- Albert Marion Smith, 88, died Oct. 9, 2012,
at Newton. He was born Nov. 28, 1923, at Meade, the son of Albert and Mildred
Ecton Smith. He was a retired Rock Island signal man.
Survivors include: wife, Hazel, Peabody; a son, Albert
(Carol) Smith Jr., Peabody; two daughters, Mary (Shreves) Avery, Peabody, and
Anna (Max) Bahre, Wichita; a brother, Frank (Luella) Smith, Norfolk, Neb.;
seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peabody Christian
Church, with the Rev. Jamies Pohlman officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8
p.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home, Peabody. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn
Cemetery, Peabody.
Memorials may be made to Peabody Senior Center or Peabody
Christian Church.
