Leona Romine, 91, died Saturday (Nov. 19, 2016) at Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead. She was born Oct. 27, 1925 in Buhler to Abe and Sara Braun. She married Arthur Romine on Nov. 27, 1947.

She retired from Railroad Savings and Loan in Newton. She enjoyed rock hunting with her husband and crocheting. Leona loved spending time with family and was especially fond of her great-grandchildren.

Leona is survived by daughter Sandy and her husband Kenny Wiens of Halstead; granddaughters Margo Wiens of Newton, Barbara Holt and husband Chuck Holt of Mulvane and Elizabeth Kirkpatrick and husband Gary Kirkpatrick of Newton. She had four great-grandchildren: Korrine Kirkpatrick, John Kirkpatrick, Tennesse Holt and Axton Holt.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Romine; parents Abe and Sara Braun; brother Wilbur Braun; and sister Hulda Clanton.

No memorial service is planned at this time. Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
