Milford D. Stovall
Obituary
Milford D. Stovall of Newton, formerly
of Peabody, passed away Thursday (Nov. 24, 2016) at Kidron Bethel
Village in North Newton, surrounded by loved ones. He was born March
29, 1924, in Peabody, the son of Burton and Floral (Stratton)
Stovall.
He graduated from Peabody High School
and served in the US Army. After returning home, he worked for Graham
Oil Company and later became the owner. After changing the name to
Stovall Oil Company, he ran the Phillips 66 full service gas station
and delivered gas to the farmers in the area.
On Feb. 13, 1947, he was united in
marriage to Fern L Spangler. She survives.
He is also survived by two daughters:
Sharon Edmonds and husband Larry of Doland, South Dakota, and Pati
Antonio and husband Mike of Newton; six grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and one brother, Melvin (Doc).
Milford enjoyed fishing and woodworking
and was a member of the VFW. The family would like to thank the staff
at Kidron Bethel, where he was known as Papa or Grandpa, for their
love and excellent care, as well as Good Shepherd Hospice for their
compassionate care and assistance.
A memorial has been established with
Kidron Bethel or Good Shepherd Hospice. Graveside services will be at
2 p.m. Friday (Dec. 2, 2016) at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody,
with Chaplain Eric Messanari officiating.

arrangements.
