Obituary: Jason J. Jantz
KS_Newton -- MCPHERSON — Jason J. Jantz, 89, passed away on
Sunday (Sept. 30, 2012) at McPherson Memorial Hospital in McPherson. He was
born on April 27, 1923, in rural Hesston, the son of Dan and Anna Mae Steiner
Jantz. He retired from Pyle Construction Co. in 1988 after working 40 years as
a finish carpenter. After his retirement, he spent much of his time on his
hobby of restoring John Deere tractors. He married Ella Voth on Oct. 14, 1947,
at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel. She passed away on Dec. 14, 1990.
He lived all of his married life in McPherson. Jason was a member of Alexanderwohl
Mennonite Church in Goessel. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Fulk and
husband, Dick of Hesston; grandson, Ben Fulk and wife, Kim of Manhattan;
great-granddaughter, Lily Fulk of Manhattan; son, Dale Jantz of McPherson;
brothers, Marion Jantz and wife, Evelyn of Richards, Mo., and Don Jantz and
wife, Eva Mae of Butler, Mo.; and sisters, Bernice Nightengale of Ingalls, and
Emily Nachtigal and husband, Harry of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by
his parents; wife, Ella in December of 1990; daughter, Donna in August of 1995;
grandson, Jacob in September of 1996; sisters, Adella and Roma Jantz and Waneta
Amstutz; and brothers, Cecil, Marcellus and Glenn. Funeral services at 10 a.m.
Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2012) at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church of Goessel, with
burial to follow in the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Oct. 2,
2012) at Miller-Ott Funeral Home in Hesston. Memorials may be made to the
