McCarter, Irma Louise

The Newton Kansan

Irma Louise McCarter, 85, passed away on Aug. 24, 2012, at Asbury Park Retirement Community in Newton. She was born on April 8, 1927, in Wichita, the daughter of Frank and Martha Dyck. She graduated from Elbing High School in Elbing. She was a long-time employee of Randy’s Meat Company of Newton. She will be remembered as a great homemaker and mother to her family. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Katherine Penner of Newton, Martha Joann Johns of Newton and Janice Ashley of Newton; and a brother, Arthur Dyck and his spouse, Margaret of Newton. There are 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Daniel Dyck. A memorial service was Thursday (Aug. 30, 2012) at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial has been established for “The Good Shepherd Hospice,” in care of Petersen Funeral Home, www.petersenfamilyfuneralhome.com.
