Lois Mae (Heimer) Hanson, 89, of Newton, passed away September 11, 2012. She was born September 20, 1922, the daughter of Hjalmer and Edna (Lindblad) Heimer in Assaria, KS. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph E. Heimer, and sister, Eunice E. Larson. Lois is survived by her husband, Norman Hanson of Newton, daughters: Janet Kay Hanson Dodson of Crete, NE, Joy Ann Hanson Robb of Newton, Jennifer Jo Hanson of Lawrence, sisters: Norma K. Swenson of Assaria, Marjorie A. Coffman of Denver, and 2 grandchildren, Betsy and Caroline Robb. Visitation will be today from 4-7 pm with family present from 6-7 pm at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday at Assaria Lutheran Church, with burial following at Assaria Lutheran Cemetery.
