INMAN - Oliver "Ollie" Junior Fryhover, 73, died Saturday (June 30, 2007) at Pleasant View Home in Inman.
He was born on July 4, 1933, in Newton to Oliver Jasper and Violet Blanche (Nettrour) Fryhover. He was a former resident of Hutchinson for 25 years before moving to Inman. He graduated from Newton High School and attended Pittsburg State University, Hutchinson Community College and Quartermasters School in Virginia. He was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church in Hutchinson, Eagles, VFW and American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army. On Nov. 1, 1958, he married Helen Marie Dieck at Emmaus Mennonite Church in rural Whitewater.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Oliver Jr. Fryhover III of Tulsa, Okla., and Steven L. Fryhover of Park City; daughter, Betty Gorcia of Hutchinson; brother, Charles Fryhover; sister, Shirley Turner of Hesston; grandchildren, Brandon, Lacey, Jordon and Mayson Fryhover of Tulsa, Okla., and Rebecca, Jessica and Felicia Gorcia of Hutchinson; 13 nieces; and 13 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara, Bonnie, brothers, Thomas, Richard and James, and step-fathers, Frank Ryan and Milo Wiggins.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Hutchinsaon. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. at Emmaus Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Whitewater.
Memorials may be made to Corner Stone Baptist Church and Pleasentview Home Inman Heritage Wing in care of the funeral home.
