Paul Schrag
Obituary
HESSTON - Paul Harvey Schrag was born
at home on Nov. 2, 1923, in McPherson County to Joe B. and Lydia
Kaufman Schrag, and went to his eternal rest on Dec. 8, 2016, at his
farm in rural Hesston.
On Aug. 10, 1948, he married Esther Mae
Schrag at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge. Paul was a
farmer, raising crops, turkeys and hogs until his retirement. He also
worked at the Hesston Turkey Plant and drove a school bus for Hesston
Unified School District. Paul was an active member of Mennonite
Disaster Service.
He is survived by his children Mary
(Ray) Hunsberger, Goshen, Indiana; Donna (Gary) Koehn, Hesston; Allen
(Mary) Schrag, Hesston; Lois (James) Rees, Phoenix; 11 grandchildren-
Tonya (Craig) Detweiler, Goshen, Indiana; Brad (Leah) Hunsberger,
Goshen, Indiana; Chris (Amber) Koehn, Hesston; Jennifer (Matt) King,
Wichita; Lauri (Travis) Lee, Topeka; Rhiannon (Matt) Royston,
Hesston; Beth Schrag, Wichita; Amanda (Dustin) Klassen, Great Bend;
Paul A. (Andrea) Schrag, Hesston; Michael (Sara) Wahl, Youngtown,
Arizona; Katie Wahl, Phoenix; and 18 great-grandchildren, and
brother-in-law, Les Hubin along with many nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Esther M. (Schrag); brothers, Eldo and Melvin Schrag;
and sister, Helen Hubin.
Visitation with the family will be from
5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 11, 2016) at Miller-Ott Funeral Home in
Hesston, with family present from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be at 10
a.m. Monday (Dec. 12,2016) at Eastlawn Cemetery., followed by a
memorial service at 11 a.m. at Whitestone Mennonite Church, 629
Crescent Drive, in Hesston.
