Obituary: John Warren Regier

KS_Newton -- MOUNDRIDGE — John Warren Regier, 91, died on Oct. 22, 2012, at Pine Village. He was born on Feb. 13, 1921, in Moundridge to John F. and Kate (Gerbrand) Regier. He designed and engineered a riding lawn mower that became the Hustler Mower for Excel Industries, Hesston. He married Phyllis A. Bartel on Dec. 25, 1943, in Hillsboro. She died on Feb. 5, 1999. He also was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy L. Regier. He is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Committal service will be at 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the West Zion Mennonite Church Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the West Zion Mennonite Church. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations are suggested to Pine Village, in care of the Moundridge Funeral Home.
