Obituary
James "Jim" L. Gervais, 72,
died Tuesday (Dec. 13, 2016) in Hesston.
Jim was born on Jan. 7, 1944, to Edward
and Margaret (Ahrens) Gervais in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jim was a retired cement worker with
Pre-Stress Concrete Company. He had also worked as a crane and night
watchman with Pre-Stress Concrete, as well as a press operator at
Hesston Corp.
Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and
gardening. He operated Jim's Farmers Market in Wichita for many
years. Jim had a keen sense of humor and was a great husband, father,
grandfather and great-grandfather. In his final years, he became a
Christian and devoted his life to Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Verna
Gervais; children, Fawn Florez, Irene Knauf and Jeannie Gervais;
brothers, Larry Gervais and Johnny Bond; sisters, Anne Bryant,
Margaret Jarrett and Mary Pratt; adopted brother, Robert Ty Dean;
many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and many "adopted"
children.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Edward and Margaret Gervais; brother, Frank Gervais; and
step daughter, Deborah Ann Honaker.
A public gathering will be from 5 to 9
p.m. Friday (Dec 16, 2016) at Petersen Funeral Home. The family will
be there to greet friends during that time.
A memorial has been established for
Aulne United Methodist Church in Aulne.
