Jesus "Rudy" Luna
Obituary
Jesus R. "Rudy" Luna, 74,
died on Monday (Dec. 19, 2016) at his home in Newton, with his loving
wife by his side.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1941, in San
Bernardino, California, the son of Guillermo (Leyva) and Tony Luna.
Rudy married Delores Terrones on June
13, 1967, in Newton. Soon after they were married, he and Delores
moved back to San Bernardino.
Rudy enlisted into the United States
Air Force on July 31, 1960, in Los Angeles. He served until he was
honorably discharged on July 30, 1964, in Riverside, California. Rudy
was very fond of the Vietnam area and enjoyed his time serving in the
Air Force.
Rudy had a big heart and while he was
residing in California he would help the homeless individuals by
providing transportation to places for meals and shelter. He had many
hobbies, including building model ships and late model cars. He
collected horse figurines and pictures, always dreaming of owning his
own horse ranch.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and his sister, Virginia Martinez.
Survivors include his wife Delores;
brother Robert Luna; and two sisters, Carolyn Luna and Debra Chong.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
Thursday (Dec. 22, 2016). The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be
at 10 a.m., with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The visitation, rosary and mass will
all be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. Father
Juan Garza will be presiding.
There will be no burial at this time,
as cremation has taken place.

of Life" fund, in care of the funeral home at 120 E. Broadway,
Newton, KS 67114.
