Obituary
Anna P. Walter, 92, died Tuesday (Dec.
20, 2016) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. She was born Oct. 7,
1924, in Augusta, to Henry L. and Winifred H. (Dowler) Creason. Anna
was the eldest of six daughters. She married Rueben Walter on May 1,
1970, and he preceded her in death in May of 1995.
Anna was a member of Newton Christian
Church and an active member of the VFW Auxiliary, having twice served
as president. As a Gold Star wife, one of her greatest joys was
baking and helping others. Anna was a wonderful mother and a friend
to many. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons: Raymond
and Tonie Polley of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Timothy and
Catherine Polley of Newton; daughter, Pam Wilson and Carol Kidd of
Sedgwick; sisters, Carol Weitzel and Linda Martin, both of Phoenix,
Arizona. She is also survived by six grandsons, four
step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 10
great-great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Rueben Walter; daughter, Donna "Sunny"
Wilson; great grandson, Maverick Polley; and sisters, Jean Boehner,
Phyllis Ghesquiere and Joyce Brewer.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday
(Dec. 23, 2016) at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m.
in the Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Visitation will be from 5 to 9
p.m. Thursday (Dec. 22, 2016) evening at Petersen Funeral Home, with
the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Christian or Church Caring Hands Humane Society, in care of Petersen
Funeral Home.
