Obituary
Phyllis Roberts, 92, of Topeka passed
away Wednesday (December 21, 2016) at her home.
Phyllis Jean (Paulson) Roberts was born
March 4, 1924, in Newton, the daughter of Emmett and Lillian
(Rhoades) Paulson. She grew up in Newton.
Phyllis married Raymond J. Roberts,
they later divorced.
She is survived by daughters, Kim
Shafer (Curtis), of Topeka, Jane Keliher (John), of Wichita, and
Kathryne Nichtern (William), of Hanover, Massachusetts; sons, Daniel
Roberts, of New York, New York, Edward Roberts (Gracia), of Wichita,
and Richard Roberts (Teresa), of Newton; nine grandchildren; Jay
Roberts (Sherilynn), Lisa Roberts, Jennifer (Keliher) (Kenny) Kester,
Nathaniel Shafer, Elizabeth Shafer, Samatha Shafer, Carina (CT)
Edwards, Erik(Holly) Hatten, Lucas Hatten, four great grandchildren,
Sarah and Sage Kester, Henry and Juliet Hatten as well as many other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother
and father along with her nine brothers and sisters, Pauline, Grace,
Dorothy, Fern, Ronald, Virgil, Boyd, Merle, and Lee.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8:
p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2016) at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest
Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS 66610.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 1 p.m. on
Friday (Dec. 30, 2016) at the First Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ), 102 E. First Street, Newton. Interment will follow in Sunset
Lawns Cemetery, in El Dorado.
Memorial contributions in her honor may
be made to Palliative Care Internal Medicine Lawrence Memorial
Hospital and Midland Hospice, Topeka.
