George Wesley Hermann
George Wesley Hermann, 86, died Friday
(Jan. 17, 2003) at his residence in North Newton. He was born Oct.
24, 1916, to Carl and Katie (Hobbs) Hermann in Alta Vista. he married
Myrtle Kraus Sept. 29, 1940, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Alta
Vista. She preceded him in death March 22, 2000. He had lived in
Newton for over 20 years. He moved to Wichita in the mid 1940s. He
worked in the grocery business for several years and was part owner,
along with his brothers and sister, in the Bleier's IGA in Wichita.
He retired in 1978 and moved to North Newton.
Survivors include: a son, Theron
Hermann of Kinnelon, N. J.; three brothers, Leo Hermann, Calvin
Hermann, and Walter Hermann, all of Wichita; three sisters, Margaret
Bleier of Wichita, Mary Holland of Ponca City, Okla., and Lila
Loeckle of Denver; three grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
Visitation wil lbe from 9 a. m. to 5 p.
m. Friday with family greeting friends from 1 to 5 p. m. all at
Memorial chapel in Council Grove.
Funeral service will be 11 a. m.
Saturday at St. Pauls' Lutheran Church in Alta Vista.
Burial will be in Alta Vista cemetery.
