Severo "Buzzy" Curiel Jr.,
59, of Newton, died Dec. 29, 2016, at his residence in Newton.
He was born to Matilda (Romero) and
Severo Curiel Sr. on April 2, 1957, in Newton.
He worked as a blacksmith for Santa Fe
Railroad for many years.
Buzzy loved The Beatles, was a
Washington Redskins fan and KU basketball fan. He also had a love for
motorcycles and fishing.
Severo also collected coins, and
enjoyed going to antique stores and gun shows.
He is survived by four daughters,
Shanda Curiel of Los Angeles, Stasia Curiel of Wichita, Alisha (C.J.)
Werth of Manassas, Viginia, and Megan Pearce and fiancé Jamin Hadden
of Newton; parents, Matilda (Romero) and Severo Curiel Sr.; brothers,
Anthony R. (Belinda) Curiel of Maize, Julian E. (Lynn) Curiel Sr. of
Newton and Robert S. (Sarah) Curiel of Valley Center; sisters, Gina
Ackerman (John), Marianne (Darrel) Bonneau of Wichita; grandsons,
Ethan Werth and Liam Hadden; and godson, Joseph Ackerman III.
Memorial Service will be at 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday (Jan. 11, 2017) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in
Newton.
